This week we had our 6th AMA under a slightly different format than usual.

Many community members requested to have the AMA hosted on our Telegram group voice chat. It was something new for us since our AMAs are usually live streamed through various channels including our Youtube, Twitch Facebook and Arfy’s (the CEO) Linkedin.

Unfortunately being novices to the voice chat function, we didn’t record the AMA so I thought I’d give an overview of what was discussed for anyone that missed it.

Updates from previous week

  • Closing of presale stage 1 was a huge success with over 300 BNB raised and over 300 holders.
  • Stage 2 presale migrated to DX Sale with a steady rise in BNB
  • Burnt almost 99% of our tokens.

Questions

  1. Why did you do 2 presales?

Arfy: We did 2 presales because we wanted to provide an entry into the SHREW presale for people who are new to the crypto space or unfamilar with the DX platform which can be slightly tricky to get your head around since it is also quite glitchy (as we have all experienced now). Every decision we make is about the longevity of the project itself and Shrew is all about making crypto mainstream. We want to bring Shrew to everybody and by making it difficult for people to get in on the presale, we would have isolated the very target audience we are looking to capture. Now looking at the other end of the spectrum, we also wanted to appeal to crypto investors so we did the second stage on DX Sale. So it is the best of both worlds.

2. Why is DX Sale so long?

Arfy: The reason for this is that we found through stage 1, we gained quality investors who are likely to hold for the long term because they had time to read the whitepaper, ask questions and understand the value of our proposition before investing. By doing the same in DX sale we hope to deter pump and dump investors and gain high quality, diamond handed holders.

Secondly, we knew the Bitcoin slump was coming. By waiting, we will have missed the crashing wave and have the opportunity to ride the journey back up once things rise. We are at a massive advantage by waiting.

3. What is happening about the marketing?

Shaz: We have been placing adverts for Shrew across several crypto sites such as ICO Hotlist and Tokensniffer. We have also signed on a few Twitter influencers to put out tweets during the week. I have been developing content to post across our social media channels. Content has also been distributed to the Telegram community providing everyone in the Shrew Crew with material to spread on their own social media channels and across groups. We feel this is one of the most effective ways of increasing awareness of the project at this stage.

Filipe, one of our community members, suggested he’d like to see a meme competition. I put out a post for this competition which has been running since Monday. A prize pool worth $300 has been set aside for the top 3 memes. We’ve received a number of entries and will be anouncing winners on Tuesday 29th June during our next AMA. More information about the competition can be found on my previous Medium post.

As you know, we want Shrew to become the very first global shopping rewards token using blockchain technology. We are therefore having our whitepaper translated into Japanese, Arabic and Spanish to begin with. The Japanese translation is complete and now available online therefore we can begin to create some content for the Japanese market which some of you may have noticed during the week on Insta and Twitter (two of the most popular platforms for this market). As we grow, we may decide to have language specific social media channels. We are also reaching out to some of the Japanese crypto sites to place advertising banners.

At this point I’d like to say a huge thanks to a community member, Hikaru, who is supporting me in developing Japanese content and giving me some pointers towards which crypto sites are the best for placing adverts. It is heart-warming when the community get together to support us in this way and as we grow, I am confident we will have more and more members of the Shrew Crew actively working alongside the core team.

4. What percentage of the outstanding (non-burned) tokens is for development and marketing?

Arfy: A good percentage (we’re still working this out) of the 420M we have will be used for marketing. Once we evaluate this fully we’ll inform the community of the exact percentage.

BEHIND THE SCENES

We are connecting with a number of marketing agencies within the crypto space that could support marketing efforts for our project. Collaborating with a marketing agency is quite a big commitment so we want to ensure we have vetted as many agencies before deciding which one can drive our vision and best meet both our short and long term goals.

Arfy is also working on an agreement with a top multi-billion dollar marketcap cryptocurrency company that will help us implement a smart contract based price feed. It will be used when working out the realtime value of SHREW in a number of fiat and cryptocurrencies cross-exchanges. Collaborating with this company is going to be a huge benefit to Shrew since it will shave off time from our development stage and give us the opportunity to share marketing with the company.

We just want to say thank you for being a part of Shrew, each and every one of you are amazing. Arfy alone has spoken to nearly 500 people over DM and actually knows most of the Shrew Telegram community by username if not first name which is crazy!
